Mud Dauber nests more often than not are found near front doors in the Boise area. These solitary stinging insects leave mud/sediment Nests attached to solid surfaces in protected areas or under overhangs. Here’s one that I found in Boise Idaho last week:
Though lacking a construction degree, these intricate nests house young and adults alike. When these Nests are attached to your siding, it may take a lot of scrubbing/cleaning to get it completely off of your house. Prevention is the best medicine. Regular perimeter and treatments around doors and windows are the surest way to prevent mud daubers from attaching themselves to your house.
